What is the role of mirrors  in vaastu shastra?

Mirrors have a very special place in vaastu as they are they are regarded as a defect remedy tool. The mirror has the potential to attract positive energy, bring good fortune and happiness to the residents if they are used properly as per the Vaastu principles. However, if the mirrors are not used as per the Vaastu rules it attracts negative energy and brings bad lucks and unhappiness to the residents.

The mirror has the ability to attract both positive and negative energies hence the output could either be positive or negative in case the Vaastu rules are not followed like,

· It can increase wealth

· It can attract negative energies

· It can destroy the positive vibes

The above-given effects depend on the placement of the mirrors like;

1) For increasing wealth the mirror should be placed in front of the cash locker. This would attract positive energy and ensures that the wealth is doubled.

2) If the mirror is placed in front of any type of negative things then it will attract all the negative energies and all the happiness and prosperity would wipe off. So, it is very important to place the mirror in the right place.

3) The entrance or the main door is a way for the positive energy to enter the house and if the mirror is placed in front of the main door or entrance all the positive energy will be sent out which were intended to be present inside the house.

· Square or rectangular shape mirrors are best and place it in the east direction.

· The mirrors should be placed or hanged 4-5 feet above the ground.

· Having a dressing table with a mirror by the side of bed is considered auspicious.

· Placing a mirror in the place where the house has a cut would eliminate that defect.

· Placing a mirror in front of the beautiful landscape that is present outside the house would take the positive energy inside the house.

· Placing a mirror reflecting a dining table symbolizes doubling of food and attracts wealth.

· If there is a common wall at the center of the house, placing a mirror here would eliminate that defect.

· The mirrors of the bathroom should never be in dark.

· To attract the negative energy at home placing a mirror in front of it will be beneficial.

Some points that are to be avoided are:

· Avoid oval and round shaped mirrors.

· On should never place a mirror or any shining object in front of the main gate.

· Do not hang mirrors near the study table else they may lose concentration in studies.

· Mirrors should not be hanged in narrow passages.

· Never place mirrors opposite to one another.

· Mirrors should never be placed near the staircase as staircase play an eminent role in Vaastu Shastra.
