The God Sun and Goddess Savitri were pleased and blessed the king to have a child. A few days later the king was blessed with a daughter whom he named Savitri because she was born with the blessings of God Surya and Goddess Savitri.

Savitri had become very beautiful and bright after growing up. Every prince wanted to marry her but her father told her to find her own groom. She went out of the house in search of her own groom and met Satyavan who was going to die within a year.
