Significance of Nakshatra

Nakshatra plays a vital role in the lives of human beings as they indicate the direction of life force that is prana. According to the Vedic astrology, there are a total of 27 nakshatras and is governed by the Moon. Every nakshatra has a symbol, has a deity and a ruling planet as well.

The zodiac divided into 12 houses of 30 degrees each is further divided into 27 nakshatras with 13.20 degrees each and every nakshatra has 4 padas. The nakshatra of a person is defined by the position of the moon at the time of birth.

The names of 27 nakshatras are as follows:

Ashwini, Bharani, Krutika, Rohini, Mrigshira, Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha, Purvaphalguni, Uttaraphalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Vishaka, Anuradha, Jeshtha, Moola, poorvashada, Uttarashada, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Poorvabhadrapada, Uttarabhadrapada, Revati.

Let’s see the individual characteristics of the first ten nakshatras here:

Ashwini - Horsehead is the symbol of Ashwini nakshatra and Ashwin twins who are regarded as the doctors of the celestial beings. People born under this nakshatra are good looking, intelligent, rich, confident, soft-spoken, and friendly natured.

Bharani - The symbol of Bharani nakshatra is yoni and Lord Yama is the main deity of this nakshatra. People with this nakshatra are ambitious and do know how to get their work done from others.

Krutika - Agni is the ruler of this nakshatra and axe is the symbol. People of this nakshatra have a pleasing personality and are food lovers. There is no match for your sincerity but people lack cordial relationships with family.

Rohini - Lord Brahma is the ruler of this nakshatra and its symbol is Ox-cart. Rohini nakshatra people mostly choose agriculture as their occupation and are good at everything they do.

Mrigashira - Moon rules this constellation and people born under this nakshatra are emotional but they will have a good name in society.

Ardra - People with Ardra nakshatra are brave but short-tempered. This nakshatra is ruled by Rudra and its symbol is a drop of tear.

Punarvasu - Arrow is the symbol of Punarvasu nakshatra and Maa Aditi is the main deity. People of this nakshatra possess qualities like generosity, patience, affectionate and they will enjoy the inherent property.

Pushya - Pushya nakshatra is governed by Brihaspati and cow is the symbol. These people can be good friends and are helpful in nature.

Ashlesha - Rahu heads this nakshatra and a coiled snake is its symbol. People born with Ashlesha nakshatra bring luck to their family but they are short-tempered and most of the time are not aware of what they must do.

Magha - Throne room is the symbol of this constellation and Pitr has complete control over it. The native of this nakshatra are born with a silver spoon and are intelligent as well.
