The word Navagraha is a combination of two words where Nava means Nine and graha is the planet so Navagraha refers to the nine celestial bodies who in Hinduism are given great importance. The nine Navagrahas are Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Rahu and Ketu.
Navagrahas play a vital role in defining what kind of a life an individual will lead. The position of planets in one’s horoscope indicates the good and bad phases. So, people perform various pujas to please the concerned deity of that graha and seek protection from the ill effects of the malefic planet.
The effects of the planetary positions are such that if planets are in an unfavourable position a king can turn into a slave. Most of the time despite putting in our best efforts we do not get the desired results and this is due to the inauspicious planetary positions. However, one need not have to worry as performing navagraha anushthan will help you overcome the negative effects of the planets.
Navagraha Shanti Anushthan is indeed the most effective solution to pacify the planets and the deities related to them. This Navagraha Puja can be performed at home under the guidance of learned pundits.
The Navagraha puja vidhi includes worshipping the navagrahas and the navagraha yantra. The powerful Navagraha Mantra is chanted and homam is performed. The Navagraha moola mantra is “Adityaya Somaya Mangalaya Budhayacha Guru Shukra Shanibhischa Rahave Ketave Namaha” and there are beej mantras and stotras dedicated to individual planets.
The benefits of Navagraha Anushthan are:
