Lord Kala Bhairava homam

One of the fiercest forms of Lord Shiva is the Kala Bhairava and he is referred to as the God of time as the word Kala in Sanskrit means ‘Time’ and Bhairava is Bholenath. As per the legends Shivji took the furious form of Kala Bhairava to teach Lord Brahma a lesson. One day the trinities Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara got into an argument as to who was supreme among them. Lord Vishnu stepped back when he heard Lord Shiva referring himself to be the most superior one but Lord Brahma refused to agree the same.

The argument between the two prolonged for a long time and seeing this Lord Shiva got angry and took this fearful form of Kala Bhairav and let his vahana the black dog chased Lord Brahma and cut off his fifth head.
