Lord Hanuman - a true devotee of Lord Rama has played a vital role in getting Sita free from the clutches of the demon king Ravana. Born to Anjani and Kesari, Hanumanji is also known as Pavan Putra, the son of wind god. Hanuman is known by many other names like Bajrangbali, Maruti, Anjani putra, Mahaveer, Anjeneya, etc and is the 11th incarnation of the supreme deity Lord Shiva.

According to the puranas, Lord hanuman was born on the day of Chaitra Shukla purnima and this day is celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti across the country. Those looking for ways to come out of the sufferings, fear, prolonged sickness or from the evil acts are recommended to worship Lord Hanuman. Also, honouring Lord Hanuman with true devotion can fill your lives with harmony, courage, knowledge and wisdom.

Temples of Lord Hanuman can be found in almost all villages of India. On Saturdays, you can see people standing in long queues to get a glimpse of Hanumanji and seek blessings from this divine form. It is explained in the Hindu religious texts that one can free himself from all the negative energies if they have the grace of lord Hanuman over them.

So, below is given the puja procedure to be followed to please Bajrangbali and be blessed by the almighty.

  • For the puja, one must place the idol of Lord Hanuman along with Hanuman Yantra on a piece of red cloth.
  • Apply tilak to the idol as well as to the yantra and light a ghee lamp in front of it.
  • Panchamrit which is a mixture of curd, ghee, milk, sugar and honey must be poured on the idol and the yantra and later, must be washed with water.
  • Sankalpa has to be made.
  • Holy materials like flowers, rice, fruits, betel leaves and betel nuts are to be offered to the deity and chant powerful mantras for the fulfillment of your desires.
  • Prasad made of chickpeas and jaggery must be offered to the Lord and later must be distributed among the attendants of the puja.

The performer of the puja must chant the following mantras to get immense blessings from Lord Hanuman.

“Manojavam Maarutatulyavegam Jitendriyam Buddhimataam VaristhamVaataatmajam Vaanarayoothmukhyam Sriramdootam Saranam Prapadhye”.

Hanuman Gayatri Mantra

“Aum aanjaneyaaya vid-mahe vaayu-putraayaya dheemahi

tanno Hanumaha prachodayat”.
