Birth Of Shiva

Worshipped as the paramount lord by the devotees in the Holy Trinity, Lord Shiva is the destructive form of Almighty, representing darkness. Said to be the “Angry God”, Lord Shiva is associated with time and creation, who destroys every cycle of the universe at its end which is then makes it form a new creation.

Called by different names, this supreme deity known for his mercy & kindness showers his blessing on his devotees, always shielding them from the evil. Often referred to as ‘Svayambhu’, Shiva is said to be the ultimate one and is not born from the womb of any woman. This reason is what makes everyone think about the birth of Lord Shiva. Well, let's, reveal the interesting story behind the Birth Of Shiva.

It is said that once Lord Brahma & Lord Vishnu got into an argument about their power and who is superior than the other. As their debate was catching-up the heat, a sudden blazing pillar appeared out of nowhere in front of them of which tips & roots were not visible. Both had to find the start & the end of the pillar, which was a serious challenge to these deities.

Within no time, the tip was seen piercing the sky & entering beyond eternity, while the roots were penetrating deep into the earth. Amazed by the third entity, Brahma immediately transformed into a goose and climbed upwards to locate the top of the pillar. Whereas, Vishnu turned into a boar & started digging into the earth to find out the root of the pillar.

This entire process took ages but none of them were able to disclose the the top or the end. Both, the Lord Vishnu & Lord Brahma felt humble and returned to the place from where they had started & found God Shiva waiting for them. This made them realize that there is a third entity who rules the universe is the most powerful than both of them.

God Shiva’s never-ending eternity, cosmic existence in such form was very surprising and one that could never understand. This is how the Birth Of Shiva still continues to be a mystery. Many people are highly fascinated by the appearance of Lord Shiva, with three eyes, snakes coiled-up around himself, & ash smeared all over his body. With tiger & elephant skin being his favourite, he also wears a garland of skull & loves leading a wild-life.
