Kali Chaudas is also known as Naraka Chaturdasi, Naraka Nivaran Chaturdasi or Roop Choudas.

Legend has it that Narakasura – a demon had created havoc in the Devaloka also. Lord Vishnu as promised incarnated in the form of Lord Krishna and killed Narakasura which came to be known as Naraka Chaturdasi or Roop Choudas.
