Gand Mool Dosh is a defect that is commonly found in every 4th or 5th individual’s horoscope. The Gand Mool dosh harms and creates serious problems for the individuals having this dosh in their horoscope.

Any individual who is born with an inauspicious Nakshatra (known as Mool Nakshatra), this Moola Dosha Shanti Pooja is performed for them. In order to please the ruling God of the nakshatra and overcome the bad effects, this pooja is performed.

There are 27 Nakshatras, and 6 Nakshatras among the 24 are regarded as inauspicious and they are also called as GAND MOOL NAKSHATRA. These Six Nakshatra are as given below:

  • Ashwini
  • Ashlesha
  • Magha
  • Jyeshtha
  • Mool
  • Revati

Any person born in any of the above mentioned Six Nakshatras has to perform a Special Puja known as Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti Puja to pacify them. Generally, this Puja would be performed on the 27th day after Birth, when the same Nakshatra falls. But, if the puja was not performed then, it is recommended to get this puja done as early as possible. In case it is not done then the person will have to face various negativities and bad influence would be in their lives according to the Ancient Hindu Vedic Texts.

The Process of performing Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti Puja

Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti Puja - This Puja is performed by chanting 11,000 Mantras of the particular Nakshatra. Water from 27 different places is collected and leaves of 27 different plants are placed in the Puja and Homa. After the Puja is performed, Dakshina is to 27 Brahmins which comprises 27 kgs. of Wheat ( One kg. to each Brahmin ), One kg. of Ghee, Clothes, and Money. Food is served to the Brahmins as well as food is given to the cows.

Important note: This Puja has to be performed only once in a Lifetime.

The fees charged for the Gandmool Pooja includes the following:

  • All the materials that are needed for the Puja like 27 Kgs. of Wheat, Coconut, Beetle leaves, fruits, Ghee, Prasad, Sweets and Hawan Kund samagri etc.
  • Food or the Anna Dan that is to be given to Brahmins for performing this Puja.
  • Vastra Dan or the cloths to be given to the Brahmins at the end of the Puja
  • Dakshina or the Fees that is to be given to the Brahmins for performing Puja.
